Empowering Communities Through Philanthropy and Partnership

Nurturing Purpose at Work

Meet Geetika, an IT Expert in Global Informatics at Roche Canada and a passionate Roche volunteer. Geetika is just one example of the many dedicated Roche volunteers who generously contribute their time and expertise to support charitable organizations, making a difference in our communities.

“During this year’s Roche Gives Back Week, I was fortunate to participate in The Shoebox Project for Women, which aims to uplift and empower women who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This initiative is a testament to Roche's purpose-driven culture and commitment to giving back. I feel a great sense of pride in being associated with an organization that places a high priority on giving back to the community and look forward to more volunteering opportunities with Roche.” – Geetika Munjal, IT Expert - Validation

At Roche, we are committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work, through philanthropy, volunteerism, and being responsible corporate citizens. It is a long-standing tradition at Roche Canada and one that mirrors our sustainability-driven approach to business. We understand that philanthropy is not merely a financial contribution; it is a belief and commitment in making a positive impact that extends beyond our business endeavours.

At the heart of Roche's corporate culture lies a deep-rooted commitment to making a positive impact. Through volunteerism and giving back, our employees feel engaged and motivated in their purpose at work. It not only brings them personal fulfillment and happiness, but also allows them to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Additionally, it builds connections, promotes collaboration and creates a sense of unity.

Earlier this year, we announced a new partnership with The Riverwood Conservancy, Halton Women's Place, FIRST Robotics Canada, Eden Food For Change, and a continued partnership with The Darling Home for Kids. Our partnership with these remarkable organizations results in meaningful and captivating volunteer experiences for our employees, where they contribute their expertise, skills, and time to make a meaningful difference in the areas and causes that matter most to them.

“Roche volunteers stand out. The work they do at The Riverwood Conservancy is done carefully, consistently, and with an unbelievable amount of positivity and enthusiasm. The incredible efforts of these excited volunteers are a testament to the work culture at Roche, and of the organization’s commitment to sustainability and a positive community impact. Thank you so much for all of your support – we couldn’t do it without you.” – Derek Stone, Program Director, The Riverwood Conservancy

Roche Gives Back Week

Every year during April, we dedicate one week where we organize volunteer activities, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns with our corporate partners and other community organizations. It is a time when our employees come together, demonstrating their dedication to giving back. Through these activities, we reinforce our commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, while amplifying the impact we can make collectively.

During this year’s Roche Gives Back Week, the passion and commitment of our employees resulted in over 380 volunteer hours dedicated to supporting those important causes within our communities.

Impact Highlights

Our employees are not passive contributors to philanthropic efforts. In fact, it is the opposite. They dedicate considerable volunteer time to a diverse range of organizations on a national, regional, and local level. Whether mentoring students through FIRST Robotics Canada, supporting women's empowerment at Halton Women's Place, or providing care and support to children at The Darling Home for Kids, our employees are actively involved in creating positive change.

The dedication of our volunteers during Roche Gives Back Week and throughout the year is inspirational, and we extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped to make a meaningful difference to everyone involved.
