Cultivating a Purpose-Driven Culture

Unlocking the Power of Meaningful Work

Roche's commitment to improving patients' lives goes beyond providing products and services. It is rooted in a deep dedication to creating a better future for all. We believe in making a positive impact on communities, protecting the environment, and conducting business with the utmost ethics.

At the heart of our mission are our employees, who are not only scientists, engineers, and doctors, but also parents, siblings, and friends. What unites us is our genuine care for each other and those in need. We are driven by curiosity and passion, and we bring our best selves to work every day to truly make a meaningful difference.

One way in which we demonstrate our commitment to the community is through the Roche Canada Corporate Philanthropy program. This program goes beyond financial giving, allowing employees to actively engage in community activities that are important to them. It provides opportunities to develop new skills and build relationships with like-minded individuals.

As we approach the holiday season and the end of another year, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible impact our employees have made on the causes and communities they care about. Beyond the numbers, there are inspiring stories of individuals who are driven to make a positive difference for others.

Our employees contributed over 520 volunteer hours to causes close to their hearts. From building forever homes for local families through Habitat for Humanity GTA, to removing invasive species at The Riverwood Conservancy, to baking healthy and nourishing meals for the staff and residents at The Darling Home for Kids, our employees have eagerly embraced the chance to get involved.

We also rolled up our sleeves and contributed over 100 volunteer hours to the popular build days through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity GTA. Together, we worked hard to build affordable forever homes for local families in need. It was such a rewarding experience!

“Roche's philanthropy efforts were one of the biggest draws for me when applying to work here. I'm proud to be a part of an organization that makes giving back a priority! This year I participated in the Children's Walk and a Habitat for Humanity build. Being able to contribute my time to both global and local events has been such a rewarding experience. I look forward to more volunteer opportunities with Roche!”

“Volunteering for our corporate philanthropy program is a wonderful experience. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the programs that Roche supports and the impact our contributions have on these organizations. I’ve met some wonderful people at The Darling Home for Kids who are sincerely grateful for our assistance, as well as Roche colleagues whom I would not have an opportunity to connect with on a daily basis. I appreciate having these opportunities to do what I love while helping others.”

In celebration of National Volunteer Week in April, we proudly launched our first-ever Roche Gives Back Week. Our dedicated employees contributed close to 135 volunteer hours, making a significant impact in a short span of time. Activities ranged from assembling over 100 shoeboxes for The Shoebox Project, to decorating wood stud boards with messages of hope for Habitat for Humanity GTA, and even spring cleaning at The Darling Home for Kids.

In 2023, Roche volunteers devoted over 120 volunteer hours in support of The Riverwood Conservancy.

This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Roche Children’s Walk, our signature global fundraising event. Over 500 employees from our Roche Canada Pharma, Diagnostics and Diabetes Care groups walked together, and along with a corporate match, raised over $41,000 in support of children’s projects and initiatives around the world and for our local philanthropic partners. It’s incredible to see how an employee-driven pilot project to support kids in need has become our biggest employee engagement and philanthropic event. Not only does the Roche Children's Walk contribute to philanthropic efforts, but it also fosters employee engagement and strengthens the sense of community within the organization.

We are proud of our employees and their unwavering dedication to creating a better tomorrow.

Our philanthropy program showcases the power of collective action and the profound difference we can make when we unite. Through our volunteer efforts, we not only touched the lives of those we served but also experienced personal growth and fulfillment by embodying the Roche spirit of giving back.
