Michele D’Elia
Interim General Manager at Roche Diagnostics Canada; Executive Director, Medical, Access & Policy
Michele D'Elia began his career at Roche Diagnostics Canada in January 2007. Through his 18 years of service, he worked in various positions among regulatory affairs, marketing and medical affairs, where his knowledge and vision helped develop the strategy allowing the introduction of high medical value diagnostic tests.
In July 2019, Michele joined the Canadian leadership team as Executive Director of Medical and Scientific Affairs and in January 2024 expanded his responsibilities to include Access, Policy and Government Relations and now occupies the role of Executive Director, Medical, Access and Policy. In this context, he directs a team of highly specialized people responsible for the medical strategy and access to the market for all the commercial units of Roche Diagnostics, medical training, test generation, evaluation of new technologies, scientific research and collaboration with different stakeholders from the healthcare system, life sciences sector and representatives of government.
Michele also contributes to Medtech Canada and CQDM board of directors and is part of the Brain-Heart Interconnectome strategic advisory committee. Michele's university qualifications include a baccalaureate in biological sciences from the Université de Montréal, a master's degree and a doctorate in the field of virology and immunology, both from the INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier.
