Thank you for visiting Roche Canada’s corporate website. As leaders of a vibrant, diverse and innovative company, we would like to take a few moments to share our perspective on what we do, how we do it and what impact we have on Canadians.

Like many of the pharmaceutical and diagnostic manufacturers that operate in our country, Roche Canada is part of a global organization. While we employ more than 90,000 people in over 100 countries, as a local affiliate we are proud of our strong history in Canada.

Roche Canada was founded on the principles of innovation and collaboration, combined with a commitment to improving healthcare, and we pride ourselves on our mission of doing now what patients need next.

We started our journey in Canada in 1931 with six employees working out of a small facility in Montreal, Quebec. Today, we employ more than 1,500 people and offer both medicines and diagnostics for a range of chronic and life-threatening health conditions.

To us, success is defined by the lives we touch, and, ultimately, by the lives we help improve. It’s about the number of patients, families and communities who have more options for their care as the result of our research. In 2017 alone, one in four Canadians was tested using a Roche diagnostic product and our medicines were used to treat more than 315,000 Canadians living with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, cystic fibrosis, multiple sclerosis, influenza and cancer.

We recognize that our goals are not easily achieved, but we believe that cutting-edge science can improve human health. And while taking the road less travelled may be daunting, it can lead to medical breakthroughs. We know that in order to advance science, mobilize communities and make a meaningful impact on society, we need to be entrepreneurial in our spirit and bold in our thinking.

We need to take risks and we need to understand that, like other research-based companies, not every risk we take will be successful. But what we learn in the process will shape how we conduct research, how we develop medicines and diagnostics, how we optimize data, and how we bring these options to patients, the families and the communities that need them most.

This is what drives each and every employee across our organization. This is what makes us Roche.
