Charities We Support
At Roche, we are committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work. We devote time and resources to fundraising for local community projects.
Listed below are the charities we currently support through financial donation and volunteering:
Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is a non-profit housing organization that mobilizes volunteers and community partners to provide affordable housing and promote homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty. The organization supports low-income families by partnering with them to build simple, decent and affordable homes. By owning their own home, families are able to achieve greater stability, and improve their overall health, while building equity for their future.
The Darling Home for Kids provides high-quality respite and palliative care services for children who are medically fragile and technology dependent, many of who suffer from progressive illness. The Darling Home for Kids offers numerous therapeutic programs designed to meet the physical, developmental, psychological, and spiritual needs of the children they service. The Home is located in Milton, Ontario.
Let's Talk Science is a national, charitable organization that focuses on education and outreach to support youth development. It delivers unique learning programs and services that engage children, youth and educators in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Camp Trillium is a registered charity and camp for children with cancer and their families, located in Waterford, Ontario. It is a place where "kids with cancer" are just "kids" and where the whole family enjoys fun and enriching recreational opportunities. The camp operates with the generous donation of sponsors and provides its unique program free of charge to campers and families.
Our diagnostics division strives to maintain its commitment to people outside its walls by supporting local community agencies within Centraide du Grand Montréal. This is achieved though a corporate donation, fundraising activities and by organizing a campaign through many generous employee donations. Centraide works to help people who are experiencing poverty in all its forms (economic, cultural and social), which leads to isolation, distress and other problems.
Each year, our employees participate in the global Roche Children's Walk to raise funds to support children at risk. Roche matches the total amount of money collected through donations to assist projects for vulnerable children in Malawi, Africa. Each Roche affiliate around the globe may donate up to 50% of the money raised to a local organization that benefits vulnerable children in local communities.
